A New Day in a Strange Land is a sculptural installation in which the major forms (a melting bird, a giant pink lotus, a spider's web, and a fish-hand) employ motifs of metamorphosis or re-birth. Created from a range of hard and soft materials resembling skin, leaves, feathers, silk, scales or shells, the work pictures a twilight moment of transformation.
